Safety for Students

Student safety aboard a school bus is Scotty's Transportation’s #1 priority. To ensure student safety, collaborative measures must be taken by both drivers and students to ensure a safe and comfortable bus ride. Safety measures are reviewed with students every year to refresh students on how they can contribute to safety. These mandatory measures are followed by all schools using Scotty's Transportation as their pupil transportation provider. Here are the measures to be taken aboard the school bus:

Students

Be at your bus stop 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled pick up time
- Stand back from the bus stop
- Stay seated at all times during the bus route
- Talk quietly; no yelling
- Keep your head and arms inside the bus at all times
- When crossing in front of the bus, wait for the drivers signal and then proceed carefully

Drivers

- The driver must deploy stop signs and crossing gate

- The driver must always be aware of his surroundings

Any electronic device the driver may be carrying must be deposited in a basket at the front of the bus so as to not be distracted
